Cased Shell Admin Portal
The admin tool offers a few important features:
- You can automatically update Cased Shell when there's a new release.
- It offers real-time monitoring and analytics on cluster health and embedded troubleshooting
- It can create automatic snapshots
- It's the easiest way to configure your Cased instance
As seen on the dashboard and the "Version History" tab, the admin portal enables you to configure automatic updates in one click.
The icons on the right in order show the release notes for the version, preflight checks, the ability to edit your Cased Shell configuration, and the deployment logs.
In the "Version History" tab, you will be able to see all of the past versions of Cased Shell that your organization used - along with their release notes, preflight checks, and deployment logs.
On the dashboard, you are able to see in real-time the disk, CPU, and memory usage of your cluster running Cased Shell.
In the "Cluster Management" section, you not only are given additional information about your current node's health, you have the ability to add or drain nodes right from the portal.
In the "Snapshots" section, you can configure automatic or manual snapshots of your Cased Shell data, like session history and session recordings.

All of the setup is done in the "Settings & Schedule" tab of the "Snapshots" section.
Setting up automatic snapshots only takes two steps:
- 1.Select and configure a backup destination. Make sure to choose a backup destination outside of your cluster. If backing up Cased Shell instances from multiple clusters to a single location, make sure to choose a unique path for each cluster.
- 2.Schedule "Full snapshots" to backup data on a regular basis. Here you have the ability to customize your schedule hourly, daily, weekly, or with a custom configuration. You also can edit how long past snapshots last in your storage.
Note: Cased Shell currently does not support partial snapshots.
Conceptually, restoring a backup involves installing a new copy of Cased Shell, configuring it to use the same backup destination as the backup you'd like to restore, and then running a restore command. This guide walks you though the process!
If Cased Shell is not performing the way it should be, you can generate a support bundle in the "Troubleshooting" section of the admin portal.
This will securely provide us with a filtered set of diagnostic info and logs to help us diagnose the issue. For additional security and protection, you can configure redactors which are YAML specifications that define which data to remove when generating a support bundle to make sure the information passed along is for your eyes only.
